Moving With Children

Moving is an anxious time for children, as well as the parents, especially the younger ones. A little extra attention and consideration can make the moving experience go much smoother for everyone, from toddlers to teenagers. As soon as final arrangements have been made, take your children to see their new home, if possible. Show them their new school as well as some of the fun sights in their new hometown. Take time to answer any questions. Make moving a family effort by letting everyone participate, including the smaller children. Let the youngsters feel useful by involving them in the selection process of toys to take along in the car and those to be packed. Or let them decide how they want their furniture arranged in their new bedroom. Above all, reassure them every chance given that the move will be an enjoyable experience, with their help.
